DB Homes was great to work with--from the start to finish. I would definately recommend you to anyone. There were a few issues when the house was delivered, where some things were wrong (ie--no space for dishwasher, no ceiling fans, etc.) which were mostly at the fault of Ritz-Craft, but DB Homes took care of the problems without question. I do wish there was more variety when choosing some of the interior and exterior, but overall we are very happy and we absolutely love our new home! Great job!!

Just wanted to share this with you.
Last November we had the oil tanks filled just prior to our moving in. Initial fill was 503 gallons. I don't think I need to remind you that last winter was a pretty nasty one. Who can forgot the heavy snowfalls. My brother-in-law who used his tractor and 8 foot snowblower to keep our driveway clear of snow also gave our home the nickname of the "North Pole" because of the high winds. We have a very beautiful view but at the cost of those winds.
Admittedly, neither Bernie nor I like a hot house, especially at night. So I initially programmed the thermostat for a daytime temperature of 72 and left the temp drop to 62 at night. Weeks and weeks passed and I honestly through the gage was broken on the oil tank. So I raised the daytime temperature to 75. Still the oil gage didn't seem to be moving. When I turned the furnace off in late April there was still over 1/4 of a tank left.
With so many rumors flying about the cost of home heating oil going "through the roof" this fall because of the Gulf oil mess, we decided to have the oil tanks filled. Thats when we were met with a very pleasant surprise. We only used 376 gallons of oil for the entire winter. Compare that to our neighbors who used well over 1000 gallons!
Yes, indeed, this is an Energy Star home and I am most thankful for it.

My wife and I would like to start by thanking the entire DB Homes staff for allowing us to build our dream home with their owner/builder program. In order to build the home we always wanted, we decided to tackle some of the phases of construction ourselves. From the very beginning we found ourselves in unfamiliar territory with many unknowns. Whether it was pointing me in the right direction for the building permit, customizing our floor plan to fit the need of the family, or using their recommended sub-contractors; every person we dealt with was very knowledgeable and sincere about our project and our satisfaction.
Having been a sales representative in the construction business for years, I can assure you that building a modular home gives you much more control over the building process while avoiding many of the mid-construction headaches. Not only did my home finish on schedule, but it finished on budget!

When the process of building a home can be one of the most stressful times in marriage, such was not our experience with DB Homes. From our first meetings in which we selected the model and the desired options for the delivery and setting of our home on the foundation, it appeared to us that we were watching a well rehearsed ballet. My Ritz-Craft built house is all that I could ask for in a new Home. The layout and floor plan are ideal for my needs. In my case, living 200 miles away from my new home and not being able to be on-site throughout construction, the simple modular, turn-key construction and installation were keys to the success and on-time completion of the project. Dick was the guy who did the initial process with us and he was very, very knowledgable and extremely nice. If we could do it over again, we would do the "turn key" instead of subcontractors. It would have saved time and a lot of hassle.
